Welcome aboard continental airlines, and thank you for your business. On every flight, we work hard to be your airline of choice. We can take you to more than 290 destinations in 47 countries — more than any other airline in the world. Some routes are relatively new, like our nonstop flights to Barcelona, Beijing, Berlin, Buenos Aires, and Delhi. But we have a long history as an international airline. In fact, this December marks 40 years of Continental service to Mexico.
Today, we have 620 weekly flights to 30 destinations in Mexico — more than any other U.S. airline. We serve Mexican destinations from our hubs in New York/Newark, Houston, and Cleveland, and from McAllen, Texas.
Clearly, we’re committed to serving the Mexican market, but our presence in Latin America extends beyond Mexico. We’ve been increasing our capacity to Latin America at double-digit annual growth rates over the past 10 years. So whether you’re heading south of the border for business or leisure, we can take you where you want to go. We serve 77 destinations in 22 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, with more than 1,380 flights a week.
Our hub at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, centrally located to serve both North America and South America, is an ideal global gateway. Our Terminal E in Houston is a state-of-the-art facility with the largest Presidents Club in the world. In addition, Bush Intercontinental boasts the largest Federal Inspection Facility in the U.S. We also connect Latin America to our Global Gateway at New York/Newark, the No. 1 business center in the United States.
We’ve invested in our product with specialized service for Spanish-speaking customers. We started our “Latinization” program about a decade ago, to address Spanish-speakers in their own language and respect the Hispanic culture with specialized service. We have Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking flight attendants on most flights to Latin America, and safety videos in Spanish on select domestic flights. In airports, we have bilingual customer service representatives, signage, and flight information. In reservations offices, we offer Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking agents to book flights, and to save time by booking online, you can go to continental.com/espanol.
Our commitment to quality customer service, no matter where you’re flying or what language you speak, is clear. My professional co-workers make our customer service goals a reality.
And I’d like to thank one of those co-workers whose commitment to service goes beyond his duties at Continental: Technician Jay Strepman. A licensed pilot, Jay donates his time to a charity called Angel Flight America. You can read more about Angel Flight America, and Jay, here.
On behalf of all 43,000 of my co-workers, thank you for choosing Continental Airlines for your flight. We hope to see you again soon.
