ON BEHALF OF CONTINENTAL’S 42,000 dedicated and professional employees, I wish you a warm welcome aboard Continental Airlines today. We hope you’re looking forward to your destination as much as we’re looking forward to helping you get there.
With spring fast approaching, I know many of you are planning family vacations. Whether you’re looking to fly to Europe, Latin America, across the Pacific, or somewhere a little closer to home, Continental serves more destinations than any other carrier in the world. And we serve more international destinations than any other U.S. carrier.
With our hub at Newark Liberty International Airport, New York–area travelers enjoy nonstop connections to more than 150 international destinations. That’s more nonstop destinations from the New York area than any other carrier, including the most nonstop destinations in Europe.
Last year, we launched new service to 15 new international destinations, marking the largest international expansion in Continental’s history. New destinations include Beijing, China; Delhi, India; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Hamburg and Berlin, Germany; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Bristol, England; Stockholm, Sweden; Cali, Colombia; Flores, Guatemala; Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; Queretaro, Mexico; Bonaire and Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles; and Andros Town, Bahamas.
Those hunkering for a taste of the “old world” might enjoy a jaunt to one of our popular transatlantic destinations, like Amsterdam, London, Paris, or Tel Aviv. With 25 destinations, Continental is the leading carrier across the Atlantic.
Others prefer to relax at a sunny resort for their spring break. Continental can sweep them away to 27 Caribbean destinations, including Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Antigua. In addition, we serve Cancún and Cozumel, along with 28 other great places to have fun in Mexico. We’ve got more flights from the U.S. to Mexico, and more destinations in Mexico, than any other U.S. carrier.
To top it off, through our membership in the SkyTeam global alliance, we can fly you to more than 400 additional points worldwide. In 2005, Global Traveler magazine named SkyTeam the best airline alliance.
With so many places to go, the most difficult part is choosing just one.
Expanding into new destinations requires teamwork and a lot of effort from Continental employees across the system. I’d like you to read about Linda Kreeck, in Notebook. Linda is a reservations trainer in Salt Lake City who has been with the company since 1991. She’s been instrumental in helping Continental hire and train new co-workers in our new destinations, and her co-workers consider her the office “guru” of international travel.
Across the globe, our co-workers give their all to make Continental a great place to work, and a great airline to fly. Thank you again for choosing to fly with us today. We appreciate your business, and we hope you fly with us again soon.
